Note*Isabella may have been married before James, in which case Hickey is not her maiden name. The 1930 census shows her as married for the first time about 1913, but James as married for the first time about 1919. It appears from the 1920 and 1930 censuses that Helen Chitty, shown as their daughter, was born about 3 years before they married.5 
Birth*Isabella was probably born on 15 October 1892 at New York.4,5,3,6 
Marriage*She married James Egbert Chitty, son of William John Chitty and Henrietta Haughey, on 24 August 1918 at New York City, New York. Howard Louis Bailey noted that they had several children, one of whom died from burns as a child, possibly scalded to death on the day they were to visit the Howard Tucker Baileys. I think this was probably their son William. Ruth Cavagnaro says they had seven children: Margaret was the oldest and I don't remenber whether there were 4 boys and 3 girls or visa versa. Helen Chitty, who was shown in the 1920 and 1930 census enumerations as their child, was born about 3 years before their marriage and may have been adopted by the couple or a child from a previous marriage of Bella's who was adopted by James.4,5,7,8,2,9,3
